Self Help Guide To
YOGA

Yoga is the unification of mind, body and spirit. Your daily activities can wreak havoc in your mind and the only way to relieve the daily stresses is to relax, go within and reach a profound connection with your unconscious mind. Connecting with your unconscious will instantaneously bring you a better quality of life and promote inner peace. This is achieved through mastering the 8 components of yoga.

These are;

  • Discipline,
  • Self-Control,
  • Positions,
  • Controlled Breathing,
  • Determination,
  • Dedication,
  • Meditation
  • Deep Meditation.
Mastering yoga will bring you all the above benefits to achieve optimum health within the mind, body and spirit.

Pranayama or controlled breathing is the practice in which to obtain seven of these these benefits.

Hatha Yoga

The asanas or positions can be learned through a practice called hatha yoga. This practice teaches you the postures and poses to maintain a strong, flexible and healthy body. The syncronisation of the breath with the body movements will bring you in harmony with the mind and spirit.

Common benefits of this practice will be relief from aches and pains in the body, alleviation from other physical and mental conditions, slows the aging process, increases energy, promotes fat loss and muscle tone, clears out impurities and toxins and improve general health with a sense of overall well being and peace.

In order to effectively learn hatha yoga you need to take it stage by stage. Some of the exercises can be extremely strenuous for beginners and so ensure there is no pain or strain during the practice. Some postures may not be suitable for individuals with certain physical conditions so a doctor should always be consulted before attempting this practice.

You are now about to be introduced to three yoga videos the first for beginners, the second for intermediate and the third for advanced.  It is best for beginners to start with the first video and even then to take precaution not to over exert yourself with the postures until you are comfortable with them.
