Self
help emotions guide shows you how to take control of your emotions and
in turn, your actions and reactions to them.
Your
emotions and feelings play such a big role in how your life takes it's
course. They are your guide as to whether or not you should continue to
do what you are doing. Generally you only really have two kinds and
they are either positive or negative. Both of which are equally as
important dependent upon which one you predominantly choose to direct
your focus.
Your positive
emotions like happiness, joy, laughter, pleasure, etc. are signs from
your unconscious
mind
that you are where you want to be at this stage in your life.
Your negative
emotions like anger, sadness, jealousy, pain, etc. are signs that you
are NOT where you would like to be.
Most people focus on the negatives and how they are affected by them.
These negatives can have a serious effect on your health
if not kept under control. Excessive stress, anger, misery and fear can
lead to all sorts of diseases and disorders, even death!
Self Help Emotions
Your relationships
play a major role in relation to your emotions. The people that are in
your life bring about different internal reactions in you that
influence the way you feel. Emotions can soar during different stages
of your life especially for women whilst experiencing the menopause,
pregnancy, menstruation, etc. You need to recognise though that these
are not excuses to treat those nearest and dearest to you with
inconsideration.
However,
it is not the people in your life who determine your actions and
behaviours. You have complete control over your reactions no matter how
the person may make you feel. Some people blame others for the
consequences of their emotions and in turn, their reactions and
behaviours.
For instance if your
spouse caused you to become
angry because they arrived late from work one evening and an argument
resulted from this case you may blame your spouse for the argument. You
may say "it is your fault we are arguing because you came home late."
But if you think twice about what just happened it was you that became
angry and consequently it was you that caused the argument.
The
whole situation could have been handled more responsibly if you had
taken a step back and instead of expressing your anger with an argument
simply discussed the misunderstanding. The anger would still be there
but the act of discussing prior to blaming would change the situation
to that of a more understanding nature and consequently the anger would
lessen and eventually dissipate.
If your spouse is
constantly
coming home late and you have discussed the situation many times
without compromise then you need to consider whether or not this
relationship is justifiable to one another. This is why many such
relationships
do not work out as there is no compromise and the benefit
of being with one another is lacking.
The situations that
are
causing you to experience negative feelings are ones with which you are
not in alignment. This can have a serious impact on your health and so
the quality of your life suffers. If you are always focusing upon your
negative feelings then you will only attract more negativity in your
life.
Self Help Emotions is about
taking control of your inner and outer reactions.
Learning
to handle and take control of your negative sensations and accepting
that you are in full control of them could only benefit you further.
Your
thoughts lead your life. The secondary effect of your thoughts are your
emotions. If you can control your thoughts you can control
your emotions, hence self help emotions. The thoughts and feelings you
emit from each corresponding event determines how it will effect you in
the future. If you experienced a negative effect from a given event
then the experience of any similar event will be dependent upon the way
in which you handled your emotions.
For instance assume
you
attended a party but whilst there felt as if you were being ignored by
everyone. This may make you feel somewhat annoyed and uncomfortable but
you can take full charge of the situation if you choose to do so. You
can interpret this experience in two ways. One is positive and the
other negative.
A negative reaction
would be to look into it too much
and start muttering in your mind things like, "no one likes me" or "no
one wants to talk to me" or "no one notices me." Consequently this
turns into a self fulfilling prophecy where your thoughts have been
realised into your experience.
A positive
reaction would be to take the situation upon yourself and set a
challenge to go about and see how many people you can get to talk to
you. Even if you find people being not so interactive with you, you can
still handle the situation with control and assurance that you are not
to blame for the ignorance of other people.
If you genuinely lack
the self confidence
to interact with people and feel they ignore you because
you appear reserved then seek treatment
on how
you can better handle social events.
In this particular
case and
similar ones you need to be aware that all experiences are the results
of how you have reacted to past experiences of the same nature. Having
this in mind you can begin to realise that the way in which you reacted
to the particular event, positive or negative, will result in any
future event having the same effect.
If you want positive
experiences then make your thoughts positive concerning every aspect of
your life. Positive thoughts attract positive feelings attract positive
experiences attract a positive life.
