Self-Help Guide To ORGANISATION, TIME AND MONEY MANAGEMENT SKILLS
These days everyone is so busy, busy, busy! So much to do yet so little time. If your organisation and time were planned a little more efficiently, you could get over a 100 things done everyday Most people say "no, I'm sorry I can't do that today because I have soooo many other things to do." First of all half the things that need to be done are not in the least of importance yet still people think them necessary to get done. It's unbelievable how many people say "I haven't got time to eat because I need to pick up my dry cleaning!" Oh my gosh! What is more important feeding your body with essential nutrients to enable you to live a healthy life or pick up a pair of trousers that most likely will be forgotten about the minute they are back in that wardbrobe??? The most common of all excuses is the "I just don't find the time to exercise" and then you see them every other evening enjoying a drink in the pub with their work colleagues! It really is amazing how everyone finds the time to watch tv all evening but they can not even sort their priorities out. This is the basis of lack of organisation. It really helps to simply take a step back and look at your whole life style in perspective, in a third person perspective. You could even close your eyes and imagine watching yourself as your day unfolds visualising all the activities you need to undertake in the coming week. Are you running around flapping like a headless chicken? It is a start if you can pin point exactly what it is that makes you disorganised. If you look around your house take note of where and how all your possessions and furniture are distrubuted. This is an indication of your organisation skills. Does it look messy and cluttered? If so ask yourself why? A cluttered house has impact on your mental health to a certain degree. When you have had a hard day you want to come back to a fresh, clean house to clear your mind. Not to be surrounded by mess and clutter which is in truth, a reflection of the state of your mind. Organisation in the mind is organisation in your house. People feel the need to hoard all items in their homes as if they are too afraid to throw them out. If you have possessions that you no longer want or need then throw them right out, better still give them away if in good condition. You also need to have a specific place for each and every item in your house so nothing is ever misplaced or lost. If something is moved out of it's place be sure to put it back to where it belongs after use. New things that are brought into the house must always have their own designated spot prior to entering. As you clear your house you should also clear your mind of unnecessary baggage that you continuously carry around with you day after day. 95% of your thoughts today will be the same thoughts you think tomorrow. How do you expect to move forward in life when your thoughts remain stationary. When you have a clear, organised and focused mind towards your goals they become so much easier to attain. When your house and mind are reasonably clear you can go about planning your day and the things you want to accomplish for the up coming week. You shouldn't plan too far ahead and in too much detail but just enough so you have your priorities sorted and allow sufficient time to complete each task. If you feel you are running out of time step back and ask yourself whether or not the task at hand is really important to complete right now. Do not over load your plate with mundane tasks that can be completed anytime, instead only focus upon the ones which will produce most beneficial results to you. Remain organised by making it a habit to always check around you that you have left everything as you found it. This way you will never forget or lose anything. Keep a diary to stay on top of your appointments and tasks and if something is left out don't beat yourself up about it, instead see when you have free time and get it done as soon as is possible. While you are doing the current task already have planned in the back of your mind what is next on the list, but do not lose focus from the task at hand just be prepared for the upcoming one. Successful people know organisation and time management skills form part of the key to success and it is why they are so successful, they are in full control of their undertakings and know to sort their priorities out.
